Accent Fallacy, a logical fallacy of accent or misleading accent, is when the meaning of the word, sentence, or the entire idea is interpreted differently by changing where the accent falls.
Tatlo ang mukha nito kaya bigyan natin ng halimbawa bawat isa.
Word-level is where one word changes emphasis, and the interpretation flips completely:
“Hindi ako kumain” - someone else did.
“Hindi ako kumain” - you may have drunk something, but didn’t eat.
Sentence-level is when highlighting a whole sentence for you to disregard the other part:
“Hindi mo kailangang magdala ng pasalubong, pero maganda kung meron.”
It changes the meaning from “it’s optional” to “you’re actually expected to bring something if you want to make someone feel good.”
Idea-level is the way to assume an idea even without a concrete correlation to the actual argument:
“Bakit mo naisipang saktan siya?”
It assumes that you are the one who hurt someone.
Or, that it was your main intention from the start.

Actively and critically listen, and try not to jump to conclusions, as we can miss the nuances due to our biases.
