Panay hanap ng rason.

Do we actually need meaning in life?

Eat. Work. Wash. Sleep.

Good standing on your trivial scoreboard of survival.

Binubuhay ka, kaya walang problema.

Keep the cycle going, as it is what keeps you going.

Masayang eksena? Hindi na kailangang isipin.

Happiness can't make you live a life of "living".

Mamaya na 'yan. May next time pa naman.

Let them have their own moment. Your time will come.

Sunod sa daloy na sinasabayan ng karamihan.

There's nothing wrong with it in your eyes, as the masses seem to approve of it.

Ito ang utos – pakigawa na lang kuno.

Complaining and questioning are for the weak.

Mahina ka ba?

Nope. Not in the face of the people you look up to because you thought they wanted what was good for you.

Until you luckily snap and wonder about the sense of the given script.

Saktong Daloy

Boredom enters the room if the task at hand is too easy for us.

The balance between the two creates what we call "flow".

It's good for us, most of the time.

This sweet spot of anxiety and boredom is also being used against us even without us knowing it.

They are not phases anymore.

We reached the point of enjoying our chosen misery.

  • Discounts and sales to make you spend more.
  • Freedom that is only allowed within the scope of your employer.

Kaya maraming gustong tumakas.

The eagerness is boiling.

If life is what you live for, then is it a life worth living?

Counter Phrase

Okay. Hindi na ito bagong dilema.

Even great thinkers of the past have already tackled this.

And that is the meaning of life.

Not only in the literal sense of imprisonment, but also in a psychological chain.

Oo krisis.

The personal ones:

  • Trabahong hindi maalisan
  • Karelasyong hindi maiwanan
  • Pangangailangang hindi masustentuhan
  • Nakaraang hindi malimutan
  • Gulong hindi masolusyunan

Different flavors that question various situations.

"Ito na ba talaga 'yon?"

"Is this what they call destiny?"

Lahat ay papunta sa mala-mahiwagang tanungan.

It's good to question something, as it can be the start of change.

But at this point, maybe the question is not worth answering.

It's more of seeing the question that is not supposed to be a question.

If there is one, it only burdens and slows your progress.

"What's the meaning of life?"

A classic question that can be answered in many different ways.

They cover it with the "greater good", which later can make the collective greater at the expense of the individual.

Good to hear but mostly bad to taste.

"Offering my life to you."

"Ikaw ang dahilan ng buhay ko."

The subject here is not limited to a person; it can also be a group.

This overromanticization dilutes our clarity of thought again.

What if there is no meaning to life?

Munting Tabig

Relax ka muna saglit.

I know this point may be delicate for some.

We have to be careful here as it can trigger real darkness in someone, which can lead to irreversible consequences.

If this is more than a bad week, talk to someone or handwrite it down whatever gets it out of your head.

The concern we have here is the context of "meaning" itself.

Yes. We know we are the most intelligent species (as far as what our perception can reach).

And this attempt to answer the meaning of life is a push for emotionality, not rationality.

We consider that – that's why I have to mention it again and again because our society is too emotional right now.

I'm not sure if someone already told you, but you can do what you want without giving meaning to it.

Yes. Sure. You can say the meaning of doing it is because you want it.

Various words should clear our understanding. Unfortunately, most of them tend to confuse us in a subtle way.

'Yong nasabi kong "progress" kanina? Ito na 'yon.

Hindi ka makaabante kasi panay ang pag-iisip ng motibo muna bago mo gawin ang imbotido (kudos to those who get the reference).

In your search for it, you let yourself be persuaded by someone who can give you the most beautiful answer.

Those biographies, speeches, or quotes are all just guides from those who lived that life themselves.

Meaning is now the placeholder for a piece of propaganda you're made to believe in.

Then later, once the damage has been done, you will again give it "meaning" and, worse, repeat it.

Gawin mo kung anong gusto mo.

If you don't know what you want, just do something.

Mag-aral ka.

School is not always equal to learning.

Learning is learning. Simple as that.

We are confident because, on some level, we know what will happen even if we're not 100% sure.

Anong pinagkaiba?

Awareness and comprehension.

Pwedeng nalaman mo o napagdaanan mo.

Different roots, same outcome.

It's on you. You gave too much meaning to things outside of yourself.

Some people will take this as a light toward possibilities.

You have to experience both to develop enough sympathy and empathy.

Even if it's packed with ups and downs, at least it's something that is yours.

As long as it doesn't harm others, do what you want.

Do the needed work – no one will actually come to help you at this point.

Abala lahat sa kani-kanilang pantasya.

"Maybe the problem isn't that we haven't found the meaning of life. Maybe we're unnecessarily assuming life requires one."
